DMCA and Copyright Policy

This page explains how to tell us about material on codecrakerssolver.co.nz that you believe infringes your copyright, what happens after a notice arrives, and how to raise a concern if you create or publish the puzzles this site helps with.

One point first, because it determines what a notice against this site can concern: we publish a solver and written guides. We host no puzzle grids, reproduce no newspaper pages, and distribute no answer sets.

For Puzzle Creators and Publishers

If you make or print the puzzles people use this site alongside, this section is for you and it comes first.

What We Do Not Do

We do not reproduce your grids. We do not scan or republish your pages. We do not publish your solutions. We do not solve your puzzles on request, and we decline messages asking us to.

If You Have a Concern

Write to codecrackersolver@seoclicks.pro and tell us what it is. If a page’s wording reads as official, suggests a relationship we do not have, describes your puzzle in a way you object to, or uses a name in a way that troubles you, we will change it.

You do not need a formal notice, a lawyer, or a takedown demand to get that done. A short email will be read as a priority and acted on, and we do not treat a reasonable request as an invitation to argue.

Why We Take This Seriously

The puzzles are the reason this site exists. If publications stopped printing them, there would be nothing for a solver to help with. Being easy for creators and publishers to deal with is not just good manners here, it is self-interest.

What This Site Contains

Written Guides and a Tool

Everything published on codecrakerssolver.co.nz is our own: technique explanations, how-to material, and the solver itself, including its code and word list. That material, plus the site’s design and original graphics, is what a copyright notice against us would concern.

No Puzzle Content

No grids, no scans, no reproduced pages, no answer sets.

Nothing You Type

The solver runs in your browser. What you enter never reaches us, is never stored, and forms no part of this site’s content.

Filing a Copyright Notice

If you own rights to material appearing on this site without authorisation, or are authorised to act for the owner, write to:

codecrackersolver@seoclicks.pro

Postal notices are accepted, though email is considerably faster.

5 Strathmore Avenue

Telephone: +(64) (04) 920-0315

What to Include

A notice containing all of the following can be acted on quickly. One missing key elements takes longer, because our first reply has to ask for what is absent.

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act for them.

Identification of the copyrighted work said to be infringed. A representative list is sufficient where one notice covers several works.

Identification of the material said to be infringing, described precisely enough to locate. The exact URL is by far the most useful thing you can give us.

Contact information: a postal address, telephone number, and email address at which you can be reached.

A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for them.

A Note on Jurisdiction

This site is operated from New Zealand, where the Copyright Act 1994 applies rather than United States legislation. We follow the notice process set out here because it is the established mechanism online and because our service providers operate it.

A notice meeting the requirements above will be acted on whichever country you are writing from, and nothing here limits any right you have under New Zealand law or your own.

After a Notice Arrives

Acknowledgement

You hear from us, so you know the notice arrived and is being handled rather than sitting unopened.

Review

We confirm the required elements are present and locate the material. This is procedural, not a judgment on the merits of the claim.

Removal

Valid, complete notices result in the material being removed or disabled promptly. We do not require a court order first and we do not argue the point before acting.

Record

We log the notice and the action taken, and where an identifiable party contributed the material, we notify them and provide a copy.

Counter-Notification

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can tell us.

What to Include

Your physical or electronic signature.

Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.

A statement that you have a good faith belief it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.

Your name, postal address, and telephone number, together with a statement that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice, and that you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand or, where applicable, of the judicial district in which you are located.

What Happens Next

We forward the counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not notify us within ten business days that they have commenced proceedings, we may restore the material, generally between ten and fourteen business days after receiving your counter-notice.

Counter-notices go to codecrackersolver@seoclicks.pro.

Trademark Concerns

Trademark is not copyright and is handled separately.

When to Raise One

If you own a mark and believe its use here suggests affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship you never gave, write and describe the specific use and the concern.

Our pages name a puzzle type and, occasionally, publications, because explaining what the tool is for requires naming what it is for. If the way we have done that reads as claiming a relationship we do not have, tell us and we will change the wording.

How We Use Names

Puzzle, publication, and company names appear descriptively. We do not present ourselves as an official source, and every substantive page carries a non-affiliation statement for exactly that reason. Our own branding was created independently.

Resolution

Most concerns are settled by rewording something, strengthening a disclaimer, or changing how a name appears in a heading. We make those changes without argument where the concern is reasonable.

The Word List and the Code

The solver’s code was written for this site. Its word list was compiled for it from general English vocabulary.

If you believe either reproduces work of yours, tell us which part and what it came from. We would rather look at a specific claim than a general assertion, and where one holds we will replace the material or credit it, depending on what the licence requires.

Individual words are not copyrightable, and a list of ordinary English words assembled independently is not a reproduction of anyone’s dictionary. A claim that a specific curated or proprietary list has been copied is a different matter and we would take it seriously.

Images and Illustrations

Graphics on this site were made for it. Where an image illustrates a grid or a numbering convention, it is an original diagram rather than a reproduction of any published puzzle.

If you hold rights to an image here, tell us which page and which image. Removal is not the only available outcome, and a credit line or a replacement is often the better answer.

Personal Information

If a page here includes an example containing a name or any other detail identifying you, tell us and we will remove or obscure it. No copyright claim is needed and you will not be asked to justify the request. Once resolved, that correspondence is deleted.

Abuse of This Process

Takedown procedures exist to protect rights holders, not to remove content somebody finds inconvenient.

Notices Made in Bad Faith

A person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for resulting damages and costs under applicable law.

We comply promptly with valid notices and will resist notices that are plainly abusive. Before filing, satisfy yourself that you hold the rights asserted and that the use is genuinely unauthorised rather than merely unwelcome.

Fair Dealing

Commentary, criticism, reporting, teaching, and research can all be permitted uses without permission. If you are unsure whether something here falls inside those boundaries, raise it in an ordinary email before anyone files anything formal.

Repeat Infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the access of anyone who is a repeat infringer. This is judged on the facts of each case rather than by an automatic counter.

Records We Keep

Notices, the material concerned, the action taken, and the date are logged, so we can apply our policies consistently and answer accurately if a matter resurfaces.

Requests concerning personal information are the exception. Once resolved, that correspondence is deleted.

Anything Else

If content here is inaccurate, misleading, or infringes some right other than copyright, use the same address and describe the problem. We would rather handle a concern as correspondence than have it escalate.
