Privacy Policy

The most important sentence here is the first one: the solver on this site runs entirely in your browser, so the letters you type into the grid never reach us.

Everything below explains that properly, along with what the site does collect, why, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past. Who Runs This Site

The site at codecrakerssolver.co.nz is an independent solver and guide resource for number-substitution word puzzles. It is operated from New Zealand.

What Happens to What You Type

This section matters more than any other, so it comes first.

Solving Is Local

The tool matches the pattern you enter against a word list already loaded in the page. That work happens on your own device, in your browser, using code the page has downloaded.

Your grid is never transmitted to us. It is not sent to a server, not written to a database, not logged, and not retained. We could not produce it if asked, because we never had it.

You Can Verify This

Load the page, disconnect from the internet, and use the solver. It keeps working. A tool that needed to send your letters somewhere could not do that.

We Do Not Know What Puzzle You Are Doing

We have no way of knowing which publication, which date, or which grid you are working on, and no interest in finding out.

What Your Own Device Remembers

Your browser may keep the page in its history, and it may remember a preference such as a grid size. Both sit on your device under your control. Clearing your browsing data removes them.

What We Do Collect

There is no account system here, no login, no signup, and no form asking for personal details.

If You Email Us

Writing to us is the only way you deliberately give us personal information. We receive what you include, usually a name, an email address, and a message.

Please do not send us photographs or scans of newspaper puzzles. We do not need them, we do not want copies of anyone’s published puzzles in our inbox, and a short written description of the problem works better anyway. Anything of that kind that arrives is deleted.

We never ask for passwords, verification codes, payment details, or identity documents. Nobody writing from this site will ever ask you for account access, and any message claiming otherwise is not from us.

Technical Data From Page Loads

As with effectively every website, loading a page sends us certain technical information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device category, pages viewed, time on page, and the referring site or search.

None of it is tied to a name. It tells us which guides are read, which pages lose readers quickly, and which browsers our readers use, which is how we decide what to fix.

What We Deliberately Avoid

No precise location. No advertising profiles of individual readers. No device fingerprinting. No attempt to recognise you across other websites.

Cookies

Essential

Keep basic functionality working, such as remembering a display preference within a session.

Analytics

Record aggregate usage so we can see which pages are read and which need work. The output is statistical.

Advertising

This site carries advertising, and partners may set cookies to manage frequency and relevance. Those are governed by each partner’s own policy rather than this one.

Controlling Them

Every major browser can block or delete cookies, usually per site. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies does not stop the solver working, because the solver does not depend on them.

Local Storage

Your browser may be allowed to remember small preferences on your device, such as a grid size you last used.

Anything stored that way stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and disappears when you clear your browser data. The tool works perfectly well without it.

Third Parties

Analytics Provider

Aggregate traffic measurement runs through a third-party service that processes technical data under its own terms. We see summary reports only.

Advertising Networks

Advertising is served by third parties that may use cookies to select what appears. They never receive your grid, because we never have it, and they never receive anything from our inbox.

Hosting

Our host processes server logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve pages and defend against attacks.

We choose established providers but cannot control their internal practices. Their own policies are authoritative on what they do.

Advertising Here

What Advertisers Can See

Networks may observe an IP address, an approximate region, a device type, and the page being viewed, plus cookies already on the device. They receive nothing you typed and nothing you wrote to us.

Limiting Personalisation

Browser cookie settings, device advertising controls, and the opt-out tools most networks publish all reduce personalisation. They reduce relevance rather than removing advertising.

What We Refuse

We do not accept advertising for services selling puzzle answer sets or scraped puzzle content, or anything requiring a reader’s account credentials. We also refuse advertising that gathers data deceptively, imitates site content, or attempts to install software.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

No settled standard exists for responding to a Do Not Track header, so most sites ignore it.

Our answer is straightforward: we do not track individuals across other sites regardless of what your browser sends, because we do not do that at all. Where a Global Privacy Control signal reaches our advertising partners, they handle it under their own policies.

Links Away From Here

Our guides occasionally link to publications, reference works, and puzzle resources where it genuinely helps.

Once you follow a link, this policy stops applying. Other sites set their own cookies, collect their own data, and answer for their own conduct. We check links before publishing and review them periodically, but we do not control what happens at the other end.

We do not link to sites distributing scraped puzzle content.

How We Use What We Hold

Email content is used to answer you and to act on whatever your message raised, such as adding a reported word. Technical data is used to understand which pages work and to keep the site stable. Advertising data is used by our partners to select advertisements.

We do not sell personal information, rent it, trade it, or pass it to anyone for their marketing. Nobody is added to a mailing list for having written to us once.

How Long We Keep Things

Correspondence is kept only while it remains useful for answering you or tracking what it raised, then deleted.

Anything arriving with credentials or payment details in it is deleted immediately.

Analytics data stays aggregate and unlinked to individuals. Server logs rotate on our host’s schedule.

Grid contents are not kept at all, because they never reach us.

Ask us to delete your correspondence at any point and it is done.

Security

Encrypted connections across the whole site, restricted inbox access, and reputable hosting with its own controls.

The larger protection is architectural. A tool that solves locally cannot leak what you typed in a breach, and a site with no accounts has no credentials to lose.

No site can promise perfect security and we will not pretend to.

Younger Readers

This site is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Because the tool requires no account and collects nothing, there is little for a younger user to disclose here. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

New Zealand’s privacy law gives individuals rights over personal information held about them, and we extend the same treatment to everyone who contacts us regardless of where they are.

Access

Ask what we hold about you. Almost always the answer is emails you have sent us.

Correction

Tell us if something we hold is wrong and we will fix it.

Deletion

Ask us to delete your correspondence and we will.

Opting Out

Analytics and advertising cookies can be refused through browser settings at any time, with no need to contact us.

To use any of these, email codecrackersolver@seoclicks.pro and say what you want. There is no form and no verification process.

Updates to This Policy

We revise this page when our practices change, when a third-party service is added or dropped, or when the law requires it. The date at the top is always current.

Revisions appear here rather than being announced, since there is no mailing list to announce them to.
